Shelby County History Awards

On August 2, 2017, the Shelby County Historical Commission held its annual Awards Dinner at Hillwood Hall at Davies Manor Plantation. H.A.R.E. had a delegation of ten people representing our organization. Our President, Cary Vaughn, presented a “Leadership in Historic Preservation and Community Service” Award to our Shelby County Commissioner, Terry Roland.

The Shelby County Historical Commission awarded a book award to H.A.R.E. for An Illustrated History of the People and Towns of Northeast Shelby County and South Central Tipton County. Jon McCalla, Editor-in-Chief, and Ruth Billingsley, Co-Editor were present to accept the award.
