Historic Archives of Rosemark and Environs, Inc. sponsors a series of events and activities to educate in an entertaining and interactive way the residents of North Shelby and South Tipton Counties regarding the area’s history and cultural heritage. 2017 events include:
Dr. Peter J. Flippin West Tennessee Historical Marker Dedication
The dedication of the Dr. Peter J. Flippin West Tennessee Historical marker at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 8742 Kerrville-Rosemark Road (the intersection ofRosemark Road and Kerrville-Rosemark Road). Dr. Flippin served the community from his office in Rosemark from 1897 until his retirement in 1947, often traveling, first by horseback and eventually by automobile to see his patients.
Bobby Blue Bland Day
Between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 the community of Barretville and Long Road Cider, the new occupant of the historic J.H. Barret & Son General Store building in Barretville, Tennessee will hold the first “Bobby Blue Bland Day in Barretville”. This musical tribute to the legendary Blues musician, Robert Calvin “Bobby Blue” Bland will feature music, an oral tribute, and vendors for an afternoon celebration of his legacy.

Fourth Annual Country Fair at Rosemark
Saturday, September 30, 2017 will be the Fourth Annual Country Fair at Rosemark, bringing together one of the largest exhibitions of farm equipment in West Tennessee, an expanded livestock exhibition area, a large military equipment display, a music tent, and local exhibitors including beekeeping, history exhibits, woodturning, and many more. The Fair also includes a large antique car and truck show. The Fair is held in conjunction with the fall carnival at Tipton-Rosemark Academy which will include a 5K run, school carnival activities, and other events. The fair is from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 8658 Rosemark Road. The fairgrounds includes the grounds of the Richland Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, and Tipton-Rosemark Academy. The 5K run begins at 8:00 a.m.
Summer activities for Historic Archives will include the continued restoration and renovation of the historic Rosemark Telephone Company Exchange Building and the installation of a Veterans Plaza in the community park at the southeast corner of the intersection ofKerrville-Rosemark Road and Rosemark Road.
